Lisa Hardaway

Lisa Hardaway has led strategic communications on two of the most high pressure, high visibility topics of our time–marriage equality for same-sex couples and climate change communications. She has demonstrated experience in both setting a high-level strategic vision and delivering as a hand-on practitioner.

For nearly 25 years, Lisa has built,  led and managed communications teams at national and local nonprofit advocacy organizations. The majority of her career was spent at Lambda Legal working in partnership with cutting-edge constitutional litigators advocating for LGBTQ people and people living with HIV who experienced life-altering harm and discrimination. For 15 years, Lisa was instrumental in changing the legal landscape by helping Lambda Legal’s courageous clients tell their stories in compelling and empowering ways to help their local communities understand why change was necessary.

Since joining Green Jay Strategies she has helped organizations build detailed communications strategies with messages and tactics,  reach new audiences in topics ranging from conservation to LGBTQ+ healthcare through media engagement, media train program area experts and volunteers,  write remarks for CEOs and develop deep analysis of the media landscape.
