Christine Lin

Christine Lin is a documentary filmmaker with a focus on bird habitats, ocean conservation, and Indigenous storytelling. A 2021 National Geographic Explorer and 2020 Jackson Wild Media Lab Fellow, she is currently a producer and editor at Day's Edge Productions in San Diego, Calif., working to tell stories about science, nature, and conservation. Before that, she led video and media projects as a senior producer at the National Audubon Society. Her love for visual storytelling goes hand-in-hand with her passion for making our planet a more habitable home.

Christine grew up in Dallas, where she first found her love for nature and the outdoors by digging for fossils around Texas. She has been based in Brooklyn since graduating from New York University in 2017.

Christine’s services include videography, video editing, video scripting and producing, and visual storytelling.

Dominic Arenas

Dominic Arenas, multimedia journalist and storyteller

Dominic Arenas is a multimedia journalist and storyteller based in New York City. Throughout his professional career, Dominic has focused on creating content that is accessible, engaging, educational, and fun.

Dominic’s work intertwines his knack for storytelling and communications with his passion for social and environmental justice, equity, and inclusion. He believes that every organization has a story. And during his time at the National Audubon Society, CAMP, and Achievement First, Dominic specialized in spearheading innovative and creative projects that communicate the organization’s mission to new audiences.

He is a holistic communicator with experience in feature writing, ghostwriting for senior leadership, shooting photography and video, and social media strategy. Dominic’s work has appeared in Audubon Magazine, Thomson Reuters, The New York Times, Sari-Sari Studios, and Billy Penn.

Kim Hubbard

Kim Hubbard, photographer and senior photo editor

Kim Hubbard is a photographer, editor, and educator with 25+ years of experience. Before returning to her hometown of Chattanooga in 2020, she worked as a senior photo editor for National Geographic, where she produced the groundbreaking “Cheetahs on the Edge” video, which won a National Magazine Award (ASME). Additionally, she edited the images for John Stanmeyer’s “Out of Eden” project, which yielded the World Press Photo of the Year.

Kim also worked as a senior photo editor for The White House, where she traveled with President Obama to Saudi Arabia, England, and Germany. Her responsibilities included editing the images that appeared in the West Wing in a monthly, rotating exhibit. She is especially proud to have won the White House Bake-Off with her favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.

As the photo editor for Audubon, Kim photographed and wrote stories on lemurs in Madagascar and elephants in Kenya. She spent a month in Louisiana providing daily coverage of the Gulf Oil Spill.

Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and National Geographic online, among many other publications. She currently freelances for the National Wildlife Federation and Scientific American. She also leads photo expeditions for the residents of the mega yacht The World, most recently providing photography guidance during a two-week circumnavigation of Iceland.

Kim has traveled extensively conducting workshops, speaking, and judging contests, including Pictures of the Year International. Her adventures have included camping with Kodiak bears in Alaska, playing blackjack in North Korea, and tagging sharks in Belize.

She has an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a B.A. in English Literature from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. When not traveling, she enjoys taking pictures of botanicals in the South.

Mike Fernandez

Mike Fernandez (born in Lima, Peru) is a photographer and filmmaker. His work is a way of building community, a communication device.

He is committed to addressing the diversity gap – principally, a lack of people of color and young people in the environmental field and conservation movement. He is currently the video producer for the National Audubon Society.

Mike’s work has been featured in New York Magazine, the New York Times, Aperture Gallery, David Yurman, HERE Arts Center, Univision, De Standaard (Belgium), FronteraD (Spain), and Audubon Magazine, among others.

His skills and services include video capture, video editing, post-production, creative, photography, photo editing, retouching, and art direction.

Preeti Desai

Preeti Desai is a creative and dynamic communicator and storyteller with over a decade of experience working with brands and organizations in both the nonprofit and for-profit spaces. Currently, she is the senior director of social media and storytelling at the National Audubon Society, where she leads the effort to help birds and the places they need by telling Audubon's story across a contemporary social media ecosystem. This includes setting the social media vision and strategy for the nonprofit's conservation, advocacy, and engagement efforts, as well as acting as a resource for Audubon’s nationwide network of chapters, centers, and regional offices.

Prior to joining Audubon, Preeti managed social media for Greenpeace USA. She also has extensive experience in social media and consumer research through stints at companies such as 360i and Nielsen.

Her experience also includes change-management consulting at both boutique and large-scale consulting companies. She is currently on the board of Wild Bird Research Group, a New Jersey based nonprofit that is dedicated to conducting science, building knowledge, and fostering appreciation for the conservation of wild birds. When she's not working (and sometimes even when she is), Preeti enjoys photography, reading, and traveling.
